Two powertrains are provided for the 2024 Subaru outback. The first five trim levels feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque.
The remaining trim levels feature a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine making 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, aimed at off-road enthusiasts. Both engines feature a continuously variable automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. If you plan to go off-road, Wilderness trim features great equipment like all-terrain tires, increased ground clearance, front skid plates, and more.
Interior and tech
The base model of the Subaru Outback offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, linking to a seven-inch touchscreen. The premium trim includes more plush amenities like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connecting to an 11.6-inch touchscreen, complemented by dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats. Off-road-oriented trim levels include water-repellent synthetic upholstery.
