Serving Troy, MI

The Subaru Impreza is a very highly respected compact vehicle with high ratings on Motor Trend. With this model, it's all about functionality, an at-home interior fit for a family, and efficiency across the board. It's half sedan, half SUV, and it's getting a new design in 2019. So how does the 2019 version stack up against the 2019 Impreza? That's what we're here to find out. Perhaps the biggest news is that Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is going to be available on the newest Impreza, a massive upgrade from the 2018 model that lacked the technology. 2019 trims include the 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport, and 2.0i Limited. The same trims were available in the 2018 year, with slight variations on specifications.

Performance

Reliability and consistency is a big deal for Subaru as a brand, so they opted for a steady 2.0-liter H-4 engine for all trims in 2019. You'll get a steady, reliable 152 horsepower for all trims, with variations in the transmission department. The 2.0i and 2.0i Sport give you a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 2.0i Premium and Limited feature a 7-speed CVT. These SUBARU BOXER® engines are unique to the Subaru brand and feature Symmetrical All-wheel Drive for improved performance and efficiency.

Appearance

The Impreza is a very unique looking vehicle, with the first glance of an SUV/wagon hybrid. Upon closer inspection, you'll see what makes the vehicle special. It's unlike anything else out there on the road, so for folks who like to travel a different path, the Impreza is a terrific choice as a family car. The Limited features beautiful 16-in black alloy wheels in the 2019 year, an upgrade, and a more sleek, modern appearance, as it grows into its own brand. All in all, we love the way this one looks both in 2018 and 2019. They've changed things up a bit in 2019, but not enough to upset fans of the 2018 Impreza.

Features

The 2018 edition was packed with features: Cloth upholstery, Black carbon-fiber-patterned interior accent trim, SUBARU STARLINK™ 6.5-inch Multimedia control center with Apple CarPlay™, Android™ Auto, and stellar safety features that really made it a standout model. The 2019 version is getting all of these things and more, including the previously mentioned EyeSight Driver Assist technology that gives you the sense that this one practically could drive itself under the right conditions. The Sport gets active grille shutters and 18-in alloy wheels for a big, bold and much sportier appearance. If you want something sportier, they've got you covered. If you want out of this world interior luxury features, you're covered there, too, with the option for things like keyless access with a push-button start on the Limited and roof rails for 5-door models if you so desire. Subaru really gives you the opportunity to transform this vehicle into whatever you want it to be, and for a compact vehicle, you've got an enormous amount of spaciousness on the interior. It's the best of all possible worlds.
