Subaru Electric FAQs

Subaru Solterra EV Charging

Subaru breaks into new territory with the introduction of the all-electric 2023 Solterra. This sporty crossover uses a battery-powered motor rather than a combustion engine, and it delivers an improved ownership and driving experience. At Suburban Subaru, many drivers are not familiar with electric vehicles and may have a few questions. We have prepared a list of frequently asked questions to help you get more familiar with EVs.

What are some of the benefits of owning a Subaru EV?

Because a rechargeable battery powers a Subaru electric vehicle, you will not need to stop at the gas station and pay for expensive gas tanks. Instead, you can simply charge your vehicle at home overnight. EVs use no fossil fuels, so they produce no harmful emissions. In addition, the engine operates quietly, provides you with instant torque, and requires less maintenance.

How can you charge the 2023 Solterra at home?

Many of our customers at Suburban Subaru find it convenient to recharge their EVs battery overnight. This can be compared to charging your smartphone while you sleep. A 120-volt charger comes with your 2023 Solterra. For a faster charge, you can upgrade to the 240-volt charger, which will need to be professionally installed in your home.

How can you charge the 2023 Solterra away from home?

The 2023 Subaru Solterra can take you 220 miles down the road on a single charge, so many drivers will not typically need to worry about finding a charging station. However, there are more than 38,000 public-access stations that you can visit. These have 240-volt charging. If you invest in a DC charger, you can recharge your battery up to 80 percent at one of these stations in less than 60 minutes.

Are there incentives for buying an EV?

You may qualify for a federal incentive of up to $7,500. Additional incentives and credits may be available through some employers and select local areas.
